Please note the change in time of our Service of Worship will now be held in the Church at 9:45am each Sunday.
The services will also be live streamed each Sunday and can be viewed on YouTube by searching Broom Church.

We are a Church of Scotland congregation based in Broom Parish Church situated in Newton Mearns on the south side of Glasgow. As well as Sunday services we have a wide range of activities in the church and halls throughout the week.
As you view our site you will find the organisations, and services on offer. You are most welcome to visit or join with us at any time.
A letter from the Minister
Summertime, and the living is easy’. But is it?
The recent mini heatwave has made us think about climate change, and it’s not for everyone to go out and sunbathe (I for one am a true Scot, and like it cool!).
I hope that those who are able to can enjoy a break from the normal routine, and perhaps travel to be with family or friends.
No matter the season, there are people who struggle with everyday life. Please think of families for whom the summer brings extra pressures, whether it’s financial stress, or juggling work with child care; not to mention families who can’t afford a holiday but try their best to keep their children happy and safe. And for some people it can be a lonely time of year, if their groups aren’t meeting, and their circle of friends or family are away. Let’s pray that no-one feels isolated or forgotten.
The summer can also be a quieter time in church life, when some organisations take a well-earned break. We wish them a good rest time, remembering that they may already be planning next year’s syllabus!
Although groups may take a break, the work of the church goes on. Please remember our Nominating Committee as they look for the right person to be the next Minister.
I will be away in July with my family (it’s the only time of year our daughter gets a proper holiday), but I’m pleased that you’ll be in very good hands with our visiting preachers, we look forward to welcoming them.
Summer holidays, and travelling, makes me think of the hymn The Day Thou Gavest. Writer John Ellerton imagines the sun rising and setting round the world:
We thank you that your Church unsleeping, while earth rolls onward into light, through all the world her watch is keeping, nor rests from worship day or night.
As o’er each continent and island the dawn leads on another day, the voice of prayer is never silent, nor dies the song of praise away.
May prayer and praise surround you this summertime, and always.
Your Locum and friend,
Revd Dr David J Graham FGS
